Congratulations to the Pennsylvania Bleeding Disorders Community

This afternoon, the Hemophilia Standards of Care Act passed in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives by a vote of 197-0.The bipartisan nature of this vote underlies the import of this legislation. In winning on the floor, the community withstood enormous pressure from Pennsylvania Insurance lobby and the business community.

The legislation now moves on to the Senate. The Senate bill already has 17 co-sponsors. (The community needs 26 yes votes to pass it in the State Senate).  For the next year and a half, the community moves its focus to getting the bill through the upper chamber and then onto Governor Rendell.

The Hemophilia Federation of America would like to extend its congratulations toKerry Fatula, Ann Rogers and the entire leadership team across the Commonwealth who have made this important first possible..
