I think it is very important to put a face to whatever disorder you are dealing with. My 6 year old grandson has hemophilia. Without the use of prophy and of course his port at age 18 months, our lives would have been very difficult. So those advances are so important. But if health care becomes too expensive to be affordable, the research will not be needed. My daughter has been to the state house to lobby and has always been very well received, but we have to continue to make people aware of our disorder and how important health care is.

The HFA is not endorsing specific health care reform legislation. However, we do support and strongly encourage our community to follow Nathan’s example and share individual stories.

Please utilize HFA's Legislative Action Center to share your own views and perspective with congress and the administration. http://capwiz.com/hemophilia/issues/alert/?alertid=13894936
